Position Title:  Maintenance Mechanic

Location:  Flagstone, Minneapolis

Reports To (title):  Maintenance Manager

Department: Maintenance

Exempt/Nonexempt Status: Nonexempt

Effective Date:  8/1/2015

Job Description: Maintenance Technician G3 is a third level mechanic. Person must have a mechanical knowledge of G2 tech in addition to the following key accountabilities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Able to operate all production equipment 
  • Able to understand complex drawings and wiring diagrams 
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair all mechanical  equipment in assigned area
  • Able to troubleshoot and repair basic 3 phase electrical components, and control voltage problems
  • Able to electronically troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment by means of computer software.
  • Able to stick or tig weld  repairs on equipment
  • Able to work independently on maintenance projects which includes new equipment installs and rebuilds
  • Must be a self-starter and work with no supervision to complete assigned tasks
  • Able to fabricate or modify support components of equipment 
  • Other duties assigned by maintenance supervisor

Education:

High School plus specialized training preferred

Minimum Experience Preferred:

3 years or must pass standardized test demonstrating skill level

Physical Activity/Working Conditions: 

Employee must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company.  Job tasks may -also involve:    

  • Using personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and other equipment as established in company policies and safe work procedures.
  • Working with cutting & machining fluids, solvents, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion.
  • Employee will be expected to attend safety training, serve on the facility safety committee and participate in hazard analysis and resolution.
