Position Title:  Material Handler

Location:  Minneapolis, MN

Reports To:  Warehouse Supervisor

Department:  Warehouse

Exempt/Nonexempt Status:  Nonexempt

Effective Date: 8/1/2015

Job Description: Moves pallets of product with stand-up and sit-down electric forklifts on production floor and in the warehouse. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to employees and suppliers. Function as back up for Warehouse Lead as needed.  Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards.  As needed, responsible for assuring the timeliness and accuracy of inventory cycle counts typically located in production facilities, distribution centers and/or warehouses.         

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Receive and unload supplies from trailer to other designated area.
  • Match appropriate paperwork to supplies and put away to correct location.                   
  • Supply required raw product and Packaging to production lines
  • Receive and pick up completed pallets from production floor.
  • Load finished product onto trailers or other designated area.
  • Sort empty and damaged pallets for storage or removal.
  • Keep work area clean, orderly and organized at all times; be responsible for housekeeping of storage areas and ensure proper stacking and shelving of inventories. 
  • Utilize computer systems and programs to preform basic look-ups for materials and loading/unloading of trailers.
  • Conduct cycle counts within applicable warehouses and report data on item counts.
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to inventory control activities.

Education: High School or equivalent

Minimum Experience Preferred: Minimum two years forklift operation experience

Physical Activity/Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, and use hands and fingers.  Also, the employee may be required to lift up to 55lbs. This position requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
