Flagstone Foods’ Dothan, Alabama facility achieves new safety record

Dothan plant achieved one year with zero OSHA-recordable incidents;

Flagstone Foods leadership plans to expand local operations

 

DOTHAN, Ala. – May 31, 2022 –Flagstone Foods, one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of private label snacks in North America, announced today that its Dothan, Alabama plant recently hit a new safety achievement: one year without a single work-related injury or illness reportable to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

 

With about 160 employees, the Dothan facility specializes in peanut blanching (with blanching operations running 24/7), as well as peanut and tree nut roasting, and proudly services many of the nation’s largest retailers and branded food companies. The plant has been in business in Dothan since 1985.

 

“This safety record is a huge accomplishment,” said Ben Clark, CFO and head of Operations for Flagstone Foods. “This achievement would not have been possible without the daily focus and engagement of our talented Dothan employees.”

 

Flagstone Foods is making substantial investments in the business and plans to expand its Dothan operations in the near future to support current and future growth. The company will launch a new roasting line in 2022 and add a large packaging line in 2023. “We recently hired a dozen new employees and plan to continue as our business expands,” said Rick Young, Dothan Plant Manager. “Dothan is a great place to live and work, and we’re excited to grow Flagstone Foods’ presence in the community.”
